Welcome to the 34th season of the Heights Chamber Orchestra! We invite you to experience community music-making at its highest level by attending one, or better yet, all of our concerts. HCO has been fortunate through the years to attract high-caliber guest artists as soloists and conductors, and this season promises that this tradition continues.
About to embark on his third season with HCO, we are saddened by the death of Music Director Mark Allen McCoy in August after a year-long illness. His vitality and always positive leadership and creative direction inspired our orchestra members and audiences alike. HCO was truly blessed by the generosity of his musical spirit. True to his nature, Maestro McCoy planned ahead and this season is filled with programs much to his design.
Northeast Ohio is brimming with musical talent and we look forward to working with guest conductors this season who represent some of the very best. Domenico Boyagian, music director and principal conductor of Cleveland Opera Theater, and Katherine Kilburn, assistant professor and director of orchestra at the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music at Kent State University, will be making their first appearances with HCO. Yoon Jae Lee, founder, conductor and artistic director of Ensemble 212 (New York City), returns after a 2014 guest appearance with HCO to conduct the original versions of several well-known pieces.
As always, our concerts are free, but only because of the generous support from our advertisers, foundations, orchestra members, and donors. Please consider adding your support by sending in your tax-deductible donation today or donating here online.
Thank you for your support!
